    DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows introduced support for JSON in Version 10.5 through the use of a MongoDB wire listener, a NoSQL command line, and Java API support. What we didn't tell you was that there were some functions under the covers that you can take advantage of to use JSON natively within your SQL.
