Abstract:

Application Architects, Administrators and Release Engineers - get up to speed on how to turbo boost your developer productivity and expand the developer pool willing and able to create applications using Db2 z!

Objectives:

Attendees will get hands on experience implementing database as a service. In the administrator role, attendees will configure developer self-services to permit developers to provision/deprovision application environments. This configuration will include defining the target environment naming conventions, environment parameters, and provisioning limits such as number of instances. Attendees will learn how developers will be able to self-service provision a schema and perform changes in their sandbox environments. Administrators and developers will learn how application change deployments can be automated through the rest of the environments.

Speaker Bio:

Patrick's current role is lead architect for DevOps and Cloud Provisioning for Db2 for z/OS. Patrick's primary objective is helping Db2 z customers to improve their development organization efficiency by enabling developer self-services and extending continuous integration / continuous delivery practices to mainframe applications using Db2 z. In addition, Patrick spends a lot of time listening to developers new to System z to identify what sorts of interfaces are most critical to enabling those developers to be more productive and develop software with better quality using Db2 for z/OS.

Saghi is a WW Director at Rocket Software, where she evangelizes solutions for customers and partners on IBM technologies. Prior to joining this team, Saghi was part of the IBM DB2 z/OS technical support team and worked onsite premier support for almost 20 years.
