IBM introduced many new enhancements with DB2 11.1 for Linux, UNIX and Windows that offer best-in-class capabilities to customers.
This session will compare new capabilities introduced with Oracle database 12c - Multitenant and in-Memory database - with equivalent (or better) capabilities in IBM DB2 11.1.
We  will highlight the cost differences and technical differentiators between DB2 11.1 and  Oracle Database 12.2 (the newest Oracle release). With Oracle Database 12.2, Oracle continues a trend of client lock-in that can be avoided by migrating to Oracle.  The last portion of the session will show you  how an open-source Oracle bench marking tool (known as "The Silly Little Oracle Benchmark" or SLOB) was modified to work with a DB2 for Linux,UNIX and Windows database that has the Oracle compatibility feature enabled.
